Old Buckenham Players present their Autumn production of Derek Benfield’s rib-tickling comedy ‘Beyond a Joke’.
Jane and Andrew’s pleasant country house hides a series of accidents and mishaps with six people having already died through misadventure. When daughter Sally’s boyfriend, Geoff, arrives for the weekend, he is soon made aware of the unfortunate history of the house and overhearing a conversation is convinced that the ‘accidents’ have a more sinister undertone. This is confirmed with more bodies appearing as Geoff frantically tries to intervene to stop the casualties, while the family remain cheerfully accepting of the situation.
Benfield’s delightful comedy hits the spot from the outset and is a guaranteed good night out with laughs a plenty, sending you home with a smile on your face!
