Jimi

Hey retro rebels and flower children!  We’ve been travelling back in time with Jimi’s 60’s Show, every Monday from 5 pm to 6 pm on SNR for the last few years!

Jimi hasn’t just been spinning the hits; he’s been taking you on a psychedelic journey through the swinging sixties!  From the Beatles to Woodstock wonders, he’s had your Monday vibes covered –  often ‘aided and abetted’ by his ‘official South Norfolk Radio Chauffeur’ –  his Dad Wizz, himself a musician and former roadie! Their occasional on-air  ‘differences of opnion’ have become legendary!

Jimi is our youngest regular SNR presenter and incredibly, at the age of just fourteen, already has over seven years experience in front of a studio microphone, including some for the BBC – so he’s already a broadcasting veteran!

Having intially been invited on as a guest, Jimi won a regular monthly 60s feature slot broadcasting  across the East of England on BBC Three Counties Radio with Justin Dealey, but with the changes to BBC local radio in the Summer of 2023, the local services were axed – so Jimi may actually hold a record for being the youngest person ever to be ‘sacked’ by the BBC – he was just 11 at the time!

Jimi is currently taking a break from regular broadcasting as school studies are having to take priority as his GCSEs approach, but he may still be making the occasional  surprise appearance on SNR!
