2022 is the year of Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. To commemorate this historic milestone, a series of events and initiatives is being held throughout Norfolk to celebrate the occasion and leave an enduring legacy for our county. And we’re celebrating the event with some special programmes here on South Norfolk Radio too.
We’ll be ‘flying the flag’ on Thursday June 2nd, as a number of our regular show hosts will be presenting a special live All-Time Top 100 British Artists Countdown from 9.00am through until 6.00pm. Later on Thursday evening at 9.00pm, Buckinghamshire-based broadcaster Jonathan Pagden will present ‘The Jubilee Project’, a special 40-minute programme featuring three brand-new short stories, all based on the single word theme – ‘Jubilee’. The new stories, written by Richard J Warren, Elizabeth Rodder and Sarah Jane Wellington, are mixed with reminiscences from members of the public about Royal Jubilees of the past.
On Friday and Saturday 3rd and 4th of June. we’ll be bringing you live coverage of the music acts appearing on stage at the Mulbarton Festival. South Norfolk Radio is pleased to have been invited to bring you the music live from the event for a third year .
And on Sunday 5th June at its regular time of 6.00pm, Peter will present a special edition of The Retro Room featurimg British Bands of the 80s.
For more details, go to our schedule page and click on the links to each programme.
And across all our programmes during the weekend and in the days prior, we’ll be trying to bring you news of some of the huge number of Jubilee events that are taking place in our area, many of which are listed on the official website here: https://www.platinumjubileenorfolk.org/
Have a Happy Jubilee Weekend with South Norfolk Radio!
