On Saturday afternoon at 2.00pm (26th February) its a Tears For Fears special on SNR! We’re joining up with our Community Radio colleagues at Radio Bath to celebrate the release, on February 25th , of the legendary West Country duo’s latest album ‘The Tipping Point’.
You can look forward to a two-hour special here on SNR with Radio Bath’s Dave Mason in conversation with Curt Smith speaking from his home in America – bringing you some in depth chat about the band, their music and the creation of the new album – their first for 17 years. Curt also relates how a discusssion over dinner in a Bath restaurant one evening nearly spelled the end for the band altogether.
The title track of the new album “The Tipping Point”, which you may have heard recently on South Norfolk Radio’s #Breakfast Briefing, has been written by Curt’s fellow founding band member Roland Orzabal along with guitarist, writer and producer Pettus and has been co-produced by the band themselves, Sacha Skarbek, and Florian Reutter. The track is paired with a video directed by Matt Mahurin who has worked with rock heavyweights U2 and Metallica. Watch the video here:

Radio Bath presenter Dave Mason says “As well as showcasing new material, it would be amiss for me not to make sure the band’s greatest and most loved hits were on the programme’s playlist too, so you can be certain of hearing some on the show.”
Tears For Fears have reached worldwide album sales of 30 million and have toured extensively, including a sold-out UK arena tour. In 2017, they released their Rule The World compilation and they were recently honoured with the Outstanding Song Collection Award at the 2021 Ivor Novello Awards.
